Grab your beads, grab the cheese and let's build a Mardi Gras Charcuterie board that is sure to be a big hit with your friends!
Mardi Gras is French for 'Fat Tuesday'. It is the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, and it was the practice to eat rich, fatty foods before fasting for lent.
I can't think of any better way of indulging in rich foods like charcuterie and cheese.
The traditional colors associated with Mardi Gras are purple, green and gold. Therefore, surprise you guest with a charcuterie board that celebrates the colors, food and fun of Mardi Gras!

Food items you will need to build your Mardi Gras charcuterie board

Platter - 17" Round tray
Bowls - 2 x gold bowls, 1 x white bowl
Meats - Italian dry salami
Cheese - Merlot BellaVitano cheese, Blueberry Merlot goat cheese
Crackers & Chips - Multigrain crackers, Blue corn chips, Guacamole chips, Vegetable chips
Vegetables - Olives, Purple cauliflowers, Yellow peppers, Heirloom tomatoes, Cucumbers, Celery
Fruits - Red grapes, Green grapes
Spreads - Hummus
Sweets - Chocolate coins
Platter Layout
Use the images as your guide!
Begin with your 17" round tray. Line your tray with a piece of parchment paper. Begin with your two gold bowls
Step 1: Fill your two gold bowls with olives and hummus
Step 2: Place your grapes at the top and bottom of your tray
Step 3: Add 12 salami flowers around each gold bowl
Step 4: Place guacamole and blue corn chips around your wood tray
Step 5: Add cucumber and celery sticks on your tray
Step 6: Place multigrain crackers
Step 7: Add yellow peppers sticks
Step 8: Add purple cauliflower beside the grapes and select only the green and yellow tomatoes from the heirloom bunch. Fill them in-between the cauliflower and chips.
Step 9: Place your Merlot BellaVitano and Blueberry Merlot goat cheese
Step 8: Add vegetable chips between the multigrain crackers and chips
Step 9: Finish with a few chocolate coins in green and purple wrappers
